1MillionShirts Video and Jason Sadler's T-Shirts

By Jason Sadler | 24 April, 2010 | 3 Comments

I wear t-shirts for a living, no need to keep my old ones!

Here’s some weekend inspiration for you to go in your closet and box up some t-shirts. When I started 1MillionShirts I knew I had a couple piles of shirts and found out just how many in this video:

And for reference I took a photo of my receipt at the UPS Store where I shipped my shirts out from. The box of 105 XL t-shirts weighed 47lbs and ended up costing me $50.33. Obviously we don’t expect everyone to ship 100+ t-shirts, but if you do this is what to expect (smaller shirts should weigh a bit less FYI).

Thank you everyone for your continued support and we’re really excited to receive your t-shirts and help make a difference!

Is this a joke? Are you really encouraging people to spend as much as $50 to ship old t-shirts to Colorado to then ship them on to “Africa”? This must be a spoof…

Bula, not a joke – they are gonna be freighted to Africa in one big crate. MUCH cheaper than directly shipping to Africa (the standard shipping cost of $50 would double, if not quadruple for just one shipment). I’m SUPER excited to be supporting this mission!

I am a runner and have been for years. I have dozens of T-shirts I’ll never wear. I’m glad to have found someone who will take the time to do something positive with them. I’ll send you a bunch tomorrow. Thanks for caring.
